The Caplinger-Acri Banjo Bender is a unique and exciting innovation designed specifically for
the 5-string banjo. The bender assembly enables you to raise the pitch of the 2nd (b) string
of the banjo simply by lifting the neck, allowing for an endless array of new and interesting
pedal-steel and telecaster-style licks. Designed and built by banjo virtuoso Dennis Caplinger
(of Biuegrass Etc.) and inventor Gord Acri (of Acri Picks), the complete banjo bender package
consists of the bender assembly (hidden inside the banjo pot) and a specially designed bridge
and stable tailpiece which totally eliminate any tuning problems. The banjo bender is easy to
install, easy and fun to use, and opens up a whole new dimension in banjo playing.

"I have been playing a Telecaster electric guitar with a b-bender in it for years and always
thought it would be great to have a bender in my banjo also.. I have played other banjos that
had benders installed, but none performed flawlessly-tuning was always a problem-until now.
Gord and I have been working on this project for several years now and I believe we've
perfected a really good, reliable, easy-to-use design that performs consistently in tune with
no problems. I played my banjo with the Caplinger-Acri bender installed for the entire 1999
touring and performance season and was totally happy with it. Check it out- I think you'll
like it, too!" |
